Nothing beats the one-on-one attention a student gets from private lessons. I offer students private classes in icon painting and iconography. Each icon painting lesson is two hours long and consists of intensive instruction in the painting of icons as well as the iconology, history, and symbolism of the Byzantine icon. Icon lessons take place in my home studio and all supplies are included in the fee except the icon board. Icon boards can be purchased separately as needed. Everything else is provided: pigments, egg tempera medium, brushes, etc..

Workshops are great for those who desire a basic surface level introduction to iconography, or who want to study a specific skill, but for those who are interested in a serious study of icon painting, private lessons are key.

I offer give quality instruction covering the basic technique of icon painting, gilding, composition and drawing, making egg tempera paint, varnishing, history, symbolism, theology, and more. If you are ready to begin an in-depth study of Byzantine iconography, private lessons are for you.

Private Icon Painting Lessons – Class Details

Each icon painting lesson is two hours long and consists of intensive instruction in the painting of icons as well as the iconology, history, and symbolism of the Byzantine icon. Small Group Lessons in Icon Painting

Do you want to take icon painting lessons with a friend or family memeber? I can accomidate up to three students at one time. You will recieve the same personal attention as the one-on-one iconograpy lessons, but can share the expereince with other students, learning the sacred art of icon painting together.

Iconography Lesson Fees

Monthly fee: $245 (includes one, two hour icon painting class per week)

Weekly fee: $75 (for a two hour class)
